Getting old, as they say, ain't for sissies! I believe it was the late, great Mickey Mantle who quipped, "If I knew I was gonna live this long, I'd a taken better care of myself!"
I am having lower back surgery very soon, and the downtime estimate from the Docs is about 12 weeks. YIKES! I hope the "outta sight, outta mind" is just so much BEE-ESS! But from previous experience, sadly, there is some truth to that. As soon as I am able, following the procedure, which involves screws and nails, a sander, a chisel, a couple of saws, and some thread and staples, I will start posting on my FB music page and on the FB Fan Group page (links at the end of the blog), as to my progress on both the surgery results and "back on stage" date.
Honestly, I AIN'T LOOKING FORWARD TO POST SURGERY CRAP! The pain I underwent when I had neck surgery a few years ago was galactically bad! Thank you, U.S. government, for assuming everyone requiring pain meds is an addict. With the proper meds, enduring that pain would have been more manageable! But I'm ready. Any chance this may eventually allow me to stand and play again without my leg going numb is a chance I will happily (not ecstatically) take.
Anyhow, I have quite a few NEW songs in the works, some for the band and some for my solo endeavors. Twelve weeks of downtime will provide an opportunity to hopefully finish them and have a bunch of new material for you folks!
So, I'll catch you on the "downside." Toss a couple of prayers to the Boss; I'll probably need them! Stay frisky, stay happy. Stay in the music.
Down the road...
Love you guys!
